You may recall that after it was released a few months ago in May, OpenAI’s ChatGPT announced internet capabilities but later shut it down in July. OpenAI has re-enabled Bing Search on ChatGPT, but it is behind a paywall. ChatGPT addresses one of the biggest issues as OpenAI solves the major limitations of its chatbot.
Once again, ChatGPT has announced internet connectivity. This means it now provides more information than the data it was trained on, providing real-time data from the internet. This is now available to everyone, giving users access to content that may be more reliable and updated.
Browsing is especially useful for tasks that require up-to-date information, such as helping you with technical research, choosing a bicycle, or planning a vacation.

Users can already help users perform many tasks such as writing, coding, researching, and planning vacations with this versatile chatbot. The chatbot can now access the Internet in real time and provide direct links to its resources. Many major updates were announced this month, allowing ChatGPT to make voice calls and interact with users through images, bringing us closer to popular AI assistants like Apple Siri.
Benefits of ChatGPT internet surfing
It enables users to work more productively as it helps them obtain up-to-date information. For example, they can do technical research, plan vacations or choose gadgets. With the Internet, ChatGPT’s knowledge is unlimited until its database, which was last updated in September 2021.
You can use browsing capabilities through the ChatGPT extension called Browser with Bing. Microsoft has invested heavily in OpenAI and with AI-powered Bing it is adding the ability to browse the web. Additionally, ChatGPT can respond with natural-sounding language. These features are largely limited to English, but OpenAI is expected to expand the functionality.

OpenAI has fixed the previous bugs or challenges. It’s a native browser with Bing instead of relying on third-party plugins. You can still find a similar ChatGPT Plus to use the Internet on ChatGPT and access the latest information on the Internet on any topic. One of the best browsers to use on ChatGPT is KeyMate. Ai Search Plugin (paid), WebchatGPT Extension (free), or use the new Bing from Microsoft.
These developments are expected to significantly improve the way people search for information online, and ChatGPT uses extensive data to generate responses that closely resemble human interactions.

- Once you’re logged in, click on the profile and select “Settings” from the prompt.

ChatGPT with Browse with Bing adds internet capabilities to ChatGPT. An update will also be available for iOS and Android devices in the coming weeks. Follow the instructions below to use this feature.
- Start ChatGPT and go to ‘Settings’.
- In ‘Settings’ go to ‘New feature’.
- Select the ‘Browse with Bing’ extension.
I don’t see this coming to the free version of ChatGPT as it has previously been exploited to bypass paywalls. However, it does add more options. ChatGPT has a major competitor in Google’s Bard and Meta AI’s LlaMa 2. Additionally, OpenAI has also added robots.txt and user agent identification so sites can control how ChatGPT interacts with it.
The company also recently announced a number of features. OpenAI has announced Voice and Vision mode to help users solve complex queries, including the multimodal capabilities of GPT 3.5, GPT-4 and DALL-E. Users can now upload images to ask ChatGPT to explore the content.
One of the most useful features is ChatGPT’s Internet access for more accurate and timely answers. The added accuracy and reliability may be worth the investment. The new search and answer features are also limited to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users and will be rolled out to all users within the next two weeks. OpenAI has already faced criticism from US regulators, as the FTC sent a letter earlier this year, and OpenAI has committed to addressing these issues.
